MUHCEU members accept tentative agreement.

Posted by

Members voted on the proposed agreement for a 3-year collective agreement beginning April 1, 2020.

The MUHCEU members accepted the tentative agreement in the following proportions:

Category 2 (paratechnical, auxiliary and trades personnel)for :77,63%
against: 22,37%
Category 3 (clerical, technical and administrative professionals)for: 76,27%
against : 23,73%

Voting is still ongoing in all unions across the province.  We will have to wait to see the final results as the unions have committed to hold their votes before August 2.

Here are some highlights, some of which, represent a first in our collective agreements.  For example:

  • A salary adjustment for the 2019-2020 year;
  • A special wage adjustment for 2020 in addition to the wage increases that apply as of April 1, 2020;
  • Higher salary increases for low-paid public sector employees, who represent almost all of our members at the MUHC.

On the issue of wages, it was the CSN that since 2019 was determined to offer higher wage increases for the lowest paid jobs.   Our determination forced the government to table offers in this sense. See the document below.

Thus, jobs at rank 1 will receive a 10.4% increase between April 1, 2020 and April 1, 2022, while jobs at rank 11 will receive a 7% increase over the same period. Other adjustments affect steps 1 through 9 in Ranges 12 and higher.

Other adjustments affect premiums and allowances.

In addition, effective April 1, 2022, the employer’s contribution to our group insurance will triple.

Please see the document below for more information.
