Pay equity: calculating retroactivity

Here are some examples of salary retroactivity calculations that apply to your job title with the pay equity complaint settlement. 

Keep in mind that these figures are based on: 

1) on the maximum salary scale for your job title, and 

2) on full-time work.  Please note, however, that amounts received for sickness or CSST absences during the period covered by the settlement will also be subject to retroactivity.

It’s worth remembering that some of these complaints have been pending since 2010, and that no government has agreed to settle them since, even though it’s a matter of applying a law.

There’s no doubt that without our mobilization, strikes and actions, these complaints would still be unresolved.  There’s no doubt that union action and solidarity make a difference.
